Cutaway visualisations provide an alternative to interior perspective visualisations. As the name suggests this type of visualisation cuts away, or removes, one or more wall from the interior, allowing a view to be shown from outside the room looking in. This type of view can be particularly useful for smaller interiors, where it is not possible to show everything that is desired in one image.

A variation of the cutaway is the 3d floor plan, which instead removes the ceiling and provides a plan view, looking down on the interior. 3d floor plans are a good way to show the layout of an interior, which could be a number of rooms, showing the relationship between spaces and the furniture arrangement. This type of 3d is visually more engaging and easier to understand than the traditional 3d plan, and can be used by property agents to sell developments off plan and by architects to communicate their plans. A 3d floor plan can also be used as a map for larger buildings such as hotels or conference centres.

Cutaway images can also incorporate the exterior of a building as some of our example projects show, illustrating not just the internal relationship of spaces, but also the relationship to the garden or street.
